MASK_ULINITY

By: Niung’e wanjiru

Mask-Ulinity is a multimedia exploration of masculinity, reflecting on the metaphorical masks men wear daily, whether to conceal vulnerability, express strength, or navigate societal expectations. This project weaves together digital paintings, animation, and sound recordings of personal experiences and diverse voices shairing their experiences, creating a layered narrative of identity, brotherhood, loss, and self-discovery. Through bold visuals and immersive storytelling, mask-ulinity invites audiences to question, celebrate, and redefine what it means to be a man in African context today.
